OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. -- A film crew from Towers Productions document members of the 1st Airborne Command and Control Squadron and the National Airborne Operatons Center's fire team, as they run into an E-4B aircraft here March 26 as part of a mock alert flight. The film crew is putting a documentary together for the National Geographic channel which will air later this year. Numerous videographers and producers spent the day with members from the two units, getting hours of interviews and mission footage both on the ground and in flight. SOUTHWEST ASIA - An RC-135 Rivet Joint from the 763rd Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron, takes off from an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. As of Oct. 7, the Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft, deployed from Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., has had its personnel and aircraft deployed in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility every day for the past 7,000 days. The E-4B serves as the National Airborne Operations Center for the president, secretary of defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. If needed, the E-4B can provide a command, control and communications center to direct U.S. forces, execute emergency war orders and coordinate actions by civil authorities. OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. -- SrA Robert K. Brushel, US Air Force, a crew chief for the 55th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron based at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, marshals a RC-135 aircraft beginning to taxi away from the Alpha 3 operational apron on February 6th, 2008.  The simulated deployment and aircraft generation are a major part of Operational Readiness Inspection, Coronet White, which serves to test the ability of Offutt personnel to conduct a short notice deployment.  The Air Combat Command Inspector General is conducting a Phase 1 Operational Readiness Inspection, Coronet White 08 ACC-13, of the 55th Wing's tasked units from Feb 4 thru Feb 9, 2008.
