Nearly 50 members of Team Offutt departed Tuesday for Southwest Asia as part of a deployment in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

The Airmen ranged in rank from senior master sergeant to airman first class and encompassed a variety of assignments, from public affairs to fuels specialist.

About 700 members of Team Offutt are deployed at any given time in support of national defense interests around the globe. Most of these taskings are accomplished using the Air Expeditionary Force concept.

The AEF concept enables the Air Force to organize, train, equip, and sustain itself by creating a mindset and cultural state that embraces the unique characteristics of air and space power - range, speed, flexibility, and precision - to meet the national security challenges of the 21st Century.
