The entry control procedures to enter Offutt Air Force Base will be changing as of April 7 in response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

A screening process will occur before anyone is allowed access to the base, which will include questions about current health, signs of any symptoms, and potential interaction with someone exposed to the virus.

If any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 are present, personnel will be told to turn around, self quarantine and report to their chain of command. If the personnel live on base, they will be instructed to drive directly to their residence before following the same guidelines.

"It is important to screen everyone before they try to come on base or into the clinic because it will help minimize exposure,” said Staff Sgt. Christopher Connelly, 55th Medical Group. “We follow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. The symptoms to look out for are: fever, cough, and shortness of breath.”
