Offutt Air Force Base is scheduled to conduct an emergency response training exercise here, between Wednesday Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 13, 2019.

There will be increased noise and activity to include simulated gunfire, sirens, and messages from loud speakers and alert vehicles that will respond to emergency simulations. Lockdown announcements may be heard over the GIANT VOICE system.

This exercise is internal to Offutt AFB units and personnel only.  Response from external agencies will not be required.

The training event will be strictly controlled, monitored and contained and will include announcements of, "EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE" immediately before and after simulated gunfire is announced within the exercise area.

If you witness personnel using firearms or individuals being attacked without the presence of identified exercise controllers in red inspection vests, this is not part of the training event. Please take appropriate actions as it could be an actual Active Shooter situation.

The exercise involves various training scenarios and is intended to prepare Offutt Airmen for potential incidents. The exercise is a routinely scheduled event, ensuring ongoing readiness of first responders and support teams.

Base access and traffic may be impacted and may cause delays.
