Offutt LGBT Pride Month events

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. --

Team Offutt will join together to recognize the Department of Defense’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender members in June.

“At Offutt AFB, we treasure all Airmen regardless of race, creed or sexual orientation, and people who are LGBT are among those Airmen that we treasure,” said Almeda Giles, 55th Wing,  community support coordinator.

There are events planned on Offutt to recognize LGBT service members and the contributions they make. A poetry slam is scheduled for June 13, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at Tuskegee Hall’s second floor dayroom. Also, an LGBT symposium/panel discussion is planned for June 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Patriot Club ballroom.

“Last year's LGBT event was our most heavily attended observance for the entire year, and we have worked extremely hard this year to ensure the LGBT month of June is celebrated at Offutt AFB,“ Giles said.
